Last June as most locals in Newport News, VA already know, a car crashed into the Tech Center sign on Jefferson Avenue and caught on fire causing extensive damage. We were hired at the end of summer after putting in bids with other sign companies to rebuild the sign.

The start on the sign was slow as the manufacturing of the stone took over eight weeks to be completed.

Heavy and continuous rains also slowed down the project as the mason’s could not build in the cold, rainy weather. After the masonry part of the rebuild was complete, the sign cabinet and frame had to be replaced. This was being built while the masons were busy reconstructing the stone base of the sign.

After the frame was put in, the tenant panels were then cleaned up, repaired or rebuilt, and installed.
